About
Hello! My name is Kelly Su, founder of Babymoon. I am a wife and mom to two wonderful children. My design philosophy is to create functional products with modern style at an affordable price made in USA. The inspiration for all Babymoon products are born from my own experience with my own kids.
When Kaitlyn was 3 months old, her pediatrician noticed that the back of her head was becoming flat. She said that her head was not severely flat yet, but it could get worse with the potential of developing “positional plagiocephaly,” also known as “flat head syndrome.” This condition occurs when one or more joints between the bones of the skull close up too early and the baby’s head becomes deformed. Kaitlyn’s pediatrician suggested we try re-positional therapy but my daughter disliked tummy-time and lying on her side and continued to lie on her back.
I began searching for solutions by researching and buying products and reaching out to other moms through blogs with similar issues. I found that “flat-head syndrome” was much more prevalent than I had expected and that many parents shared my experience with this condition. However, I never found a solution that helped my baby. As a concerned mother, I was running out of options. So as a designer, I created an innovative solution, which would later become the Babymoon Pod, head and neck support.
Kaitlyn used the Pod consistently for a couple months and her pediatrician noticed major improvements in her head shape at the 6-month check-up. We noticed that the Pod also functioned as a great neck support in the car seat and stroller to prevent her neck from lolling to the side when she was asleep. And we all have seen babies uncomfortably sleeping in strollers and car seats with their heads lolling all around.
I decided to produce the Babymoon Pod for the public, given the need for this product in the marketplace. In doing so, a high priority was to make the Pod affordable, so that all moms (and dads) can share my solution to preventing flat-head syndrome. I am proud to say that the Pod is manufactured in the USA. For easy care, the entire Pod is machine washable. I hope you and your baby will benefit from my Babymoon Pod, head and neck support as much as Kaitlyn and I have.
Dear parents, it is not my intention to give you any false sense of security that Babymoon Pod can be used as a crutch and leave babies on the Pod all day long. If misused this can actually contribute to the very problem which you are trying to avoid, a flat head. Babymoon Pod is a supplement and NOT a substitute. Please use with care instruction and precaution.
