I ordered this because I read a few articles about babies and flat head syndrome. I wanted something to use as a pillow when my little guy was sleeping ((supervised)) at home to support his head and neck and keep his skull off the not-so-soft bassinet pad. This is incredibly soft and squishy, yet has enough support to keep his head off the bed so it stays rounded. The cover is also nice and soft and stayed cool. I cannot say if this would aid in reshaping the head, but I can see how it helps to prevent flat spots in newborns who sleep many hours. Well worth the price to me!
